What I’m gonna share with you today is a way that I’ve been managing during this time, and I’m not saying what I’ve been doing is perfect but it’s certainly allowed me to kind of block out the noise and get more stuff done.
The Two States
So what I want to talk to you about is that what happens for us right now is kind of two states we’re in – one is when we’re in a calm state (now for some users it’s not very often) and then the other state is where we get stuck in our mind.
Think about when we get stuck in our mind, you know we either worried about our futures, you know that kind of what’s gonna happen? Where’s my business gonna go if things are really uncertain or we’re kind of dragging out the past? We’re thinking about things that we have done or could have done, or all the days in the past, and it kind of beating ourselves up cause we could have done things differently.
And what you would notice that (this has been shown in psychology over and over again) is that most often when we’re most calm and I will use that word – when we are most peaceful, is often rather than being in the past, the future we are right in the moment, right now.
Be More Calm and Present
So a couple of techniques that help you be more present, this is what we’re after.
Summary
That’s been really useful for me, so just to review: we get stuck in our minds thinking about the past and the future and it prevents us from being right in the moment, right now – peaceful in the moment and focused on what we’re doing now. Try to get focused on the task you are doing and get in your body and not in your heads.
