- If you’ve virtually managed your team during COVID you may have noticed:
- The strategy has evolved or been disrupted multiple times during 2020 – 2021
- Team alignment to the strategy is lower than normal because people have been working at home (and the incidental conversations haven’t happened)
- People generally feel a bit like ships in the night
- New opportunities and challenges present themselves on a weekly or monthly basis
Without clear direction, your team may:
- Be executing isolated projects without any connection to each other
- Feel bored and /or perceive their career isn’t moving forward
- Negotiate salary and benefits because they aren’t engaged in your mission or purpose all of which may leave you competitively and/ or culturally vulnerable

Adjust your priorities to your dynamic customer needs
Most markets and industries are either coping with too little work or too much! Either way, customer needs are changing rapidly and strategy is no longer something that sits on the shelf. I would recommend quarterly strategy sessions at a minimum.
